101 great uses for Renapur - Use No.6 Use it on your Stripped Doors!
I bought my first tub off you at the County Showground in Stafford, for use on my motorbike leathers, saddlebags and seat. After painstakingly trying to burn-off the paint around my door-frames, with the intention of doing the same to the doors, I realized this was a task that I wished I hadn’t started. However, it was suggested that I take the doors to be dipped, to remove all the old paint (my house was built in the 1950’s, so there was quite a build-up over the years), as this would be far quicker. And it was. I dropped 5 off one Saturday, and collected them the following. I re-hung them and was initially pleased with their appearance. However, as they dried out over the next few weeks, the wood started to crack a little and salt-like, white marks began spoiling their look. My Grandma always used beeswax on her furniture. I remember reading that your product contained beeswax, so I thought I’d give it a go on the doors. I used one of the green-yellow kitchen scourers to apply it – the green side having a mild abrasive effect and so smoothing the door as I worked the Renapur in. It was really easy to apply as it is soft (although some amount of the traditional elbow-grease was also required!!). I did, of course need to purchased another tub to finish the job, but there is still plenty left over to tackle the upstairs doors. The result was fantastic. The doors went a lovely, deep colour, with all the grain showing through. They were also very smooth to the touch, thanks to the scourer. Many people have commented on how nice they look. The above photo just shows around the edges of the door frame, where I initially began.
